My first 2010 DetoX

This is the third day of what I intended to be a 1 day detox. Why the change? I weighed myself and found that I's gained 15 pounds over the course of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the loss of a loved one on Christmas Day.

My goal had been to lose 50 pounds over the first five months of 2010 but now I have to up it to 65 pounds--13 per month instead of 10. My goal is to weigh 165 by my birthday. That is about what I weighed when I was in the best shape of my life. I previously achieved that weight through vigorous exercise, now I will do it with moderate exercise and eating a lot less.

My weights thus far have been as follows

Day 1: 230, 230
Day 2: 226, 227
Day 3: 224, 222

I weigh myself before drinking DetoX the two times each day. The loss of eight pounds in 3 days is remarkable but I've been stuffing myself for the past two weeks.

Tomorrow I'm going to decide whether to continue. My dilemma is I had planned to do regular short fasts to test my ability to restrict my eating in-between fasts. Right now however, I feel so good that I hate to stop.

weight loss as a by-product of calorie reduction

We've always described Detox as a traditional tea used by people who understand the benefits of cleansing. Substituting calorie reduction for cleansing in the above phrase is both more descriptive and more widely understood. What are the undisputed benefits of calorie reduction (sometimes referred to as calorie restriction)? Health, longevity, and weight loss.

Cleansing and calorie reduction are reciprocal concepts since:
  1. people who cleanse, invariably reduce caloric intake
  2. reduction of caloric intake invariably results in cleansing
Inspite of this connection, the literature on calorie reduction seldom mentions cleansing or detoxification as a goal. Instead the writers on calorie reduction focus on the big three: health, longevity, and weight loss. The release of toxins is cited as a caution--a reason to take it slow

Are you missing these keys to weight loss?

Are you missing these keys to weight loss?
This is the primary headline on the internalcleansing.com homepage and is meant to introduce our contention that people who have difficulty losing weight (or keeping it off) have not recognized (or acted on) the connection between weight loss and cleansing.
Weight loss is a by-product of cleansing
In other words, people who cleanse, lose weight. You don't have to take our word for it. Weight loss is a universal experience of people who cleanse and that is why the majority of our home page is devoted to testimonials.
Weight loss from cleansing is fast
Why spend 8 weeks losing 8 pounds when you can lose 8 pounds in 4 days and devote your energy to keeping the weight off.
DetoX breaks bad habits
The ability to keep weight off is directly connected to your ability to transition to a healthy lifestyle. In other words, during those 4 days, when you lost those 8 pounds, you did not do, or want to do, the things which caused the weight gain. Your ability to resist those habits in the future is greatly enhanced.
